b+y design - on balance

Last night there was a little opening for Welcome Home's November resident designers Eleanor Young and Hamish Bigg of b+y design. It has been interesting having the studio space used as a workshop the past few weeks and it was nice to see the results of their labour...

sweets on a Saturday...

When I was little I was only allowed sweets on a Saturday which probably explains why I can't get enough now... Anyway they would have been even more special if they had come in these - Nat Thakur's sweet shop bags and purses, now available to buy in the shop. Go on, Saturday's the day for treats!

Applicants need to be based in or able to stay in Glasgow as accommodation is not provided. Please send ideas/proposals to hello@welcomehomestore.co.uk by 23rd October at the latest. now open!

I haven't been here much as it has been a pretty intense couple of months and after the years of planning and dreaming about Welcome Home, a lot of hard work to finally open. The good news is that Welcome Home opened it's doors officially on Monday after a successful Saturday opening night. Now that I am here in the real bricks and mortar space, you will find me in this space more often too. There is a lot of exciting news to share... and for those that haven't already been, get yourselves to 19 Keith Street, Glasgow, G11 6QQ. There are new arrivals everyday at the moment and a lot of beautiful pieces in the debut show + BLOOM +. It's not to be missed!
